The sign for HEADTEACHER consists of two parts. (i) The first part is the sign for HEAD. One hand takes the shape for K (the first letter of the Maltese word “kap” for “boss”) and taps twice or more on the other shoulder. (ii) The second part is the same as the sign for SCHOOL. This is made with both hands that take the shape of curved 5. The palm faces inwards and the curved fingers move up and down whilst they brush lightly along the chest. This represents the hands holding the straps of the school bag.
